There a number of reports and studies into loneliness and how
it affects the quality of life. However, with a growing population, and an ageing population, there is still a lack of good quality evidence on
the impact of different types of services on loneliness. Studies show that loneliness is linked to risk
of an earlier death, depression, dementia and poor self-rated health.
We
need to know more about ‘what works’ to prevent or alleviate it and we need you
to participate in this survey.
(This survey uses the best practice scales to measure loneliness from the national guidance.)
